With the X7, BMW presented an extra-large seven-seater SUV in 2017 for whom the X5 offers too few seats. Mercedes-Benz already had the GLS in that segment and it was that model that was helped to a new generation in 2019. The BMW X7 was renewed last year and the Mercedes-Benz GLS also seems to be getting a facelift soon. The extra lavishly decorated Maybach version has already appeared twice in a renewed form and now the facelifted GLS reappears, this time as a Mercedes-AMG 63 AMG. The current Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4Matic+. As intense as the facelift that competitor BMW gave the X7, the GLS does not appear to be updated. For example, the headlights seem to keep their shape and the bumper work of this AMG version is very similar to that of the well-known model. The rear lights are more fanatically covered with camouflage material, so it is obvious that some things will change here as well. Under the hood of the current Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is a 612 hp and 850 Nm strong 4.0 V8. We are not aiming for that machine to gain power. After all, the current eight-cylinder is already a modern 48v mild hybrid version. The GLS 63 AMG launches its 2,530 kilos in 4.2 seconds to a speed of 100 km/h and has a top speed of 250 km/h, which can optionally be increased to 280 km/h.
