Ford Bronco is coming to the Netherlands, but you are not going to buy it

The market for typical American SUVs is not large in the Netherlands. It is therefore surprising that Ford has decided to bring the Bronco here. In the US it is already available from 32,000 euros. Here the Ford Bronco will become much more expensive.

Two versions of the Ford Bronco are coming to the Netherlands: the Outer Banks and the Badlands. Both are powered by a 2.7-liter V6 with an output of 335 hp and 563 Nm of torque.

Ford Bronco is going to suffer from BPM

It is that power source that is the biggest problem for us. Ford has not yet announced starting prices for the Bronco, but due to the high CO2 emissions of the twin-turbo six-cylinder, the BPM fine will be substantial.

Ford also has the American Explorer in the price list here. Although it has a 3.0-liter V6, it is helped in the BPM area by the fact that it has plug-in hybrid technology under the hood.

More of an all-terrain vehicle than an SUV

Anyway, back to the Bronco, which is more of an all-terrain vehicle than an SUV. It has four-wheel drive with high and low ranges, removable doors, a removable hardtop and an interior that is easy to hose clean.

Standard with a ten-speed automatic transmission

The new Bronco comes standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case. As a Badlands, the Bronco also has a limited-slip differential and detachable anti-roll bars for maximum front wheel travel.

Ford Bronco focused on off-roading

Off-roading is very popular in the US. They also have a lot of ‘ground’. In the Netherlands, however, you will have little use for the hardcore character of the Bronco, with its many off-road options, such as a front plate, protective panels for under the car and rock rails.

Ford equips its large SUV with a variety of smart systems, such as Trail Turn Assist, which brakes the inside rear wheel for the smallest possible turning circle, and Trail Control, an off-road cruise control system. Seven driving modes are available.

In the interior you will find an 8-inch digital cockpit and a 12-inch multimedia screen. The latter runs Ford’s SYNC 4 system, which is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. There is also always a B&O Premium Sound System available.

Bronco to the Netherlands in the second quarter

The Ford Bronco will come to the Netherlands in the second quarter of this year. What the prices will be will be announced later, but you can count on them that they will not be tender.
