The electric Macan will arrive in 2024 and the electric 718 is planned for around 2025. But it doesn’t stop there. There is also great news for the Porsche Cayenne. Another important caveat: The electric Macan and 718 will initially be run alongside their internal combustion engine equivalents. The new Cayenne will be an EV from the outset. The Porsche Cayenne will soon be thoroughly facelifted. According to Porsche, a facelift model has never had so much news in store. For example, the new Cayenne will be available with three different plug-in hybrid powertrains. But Porsche is looking further ahead. For example, Porsche is introducing a fully electric Cayenne, although it is only planned for after the arrival of the electric 718. Before 2025 you will not see that fourth generation electric Cayenne. Porsche’s great attention to electric models does not come out of the blue, of course. Porsche has set itself the goal of having no less than 80 percent of its sold cars consist of EVs by 2030. Porsche is also releasing more about another electric model. The brand is working on an SUV that will be placed above the Cayenne. That car – which will be placed on a platform that Porsche now calls SSP Sport – will be fully electric and should attract the necessary customers, particularly in China and the United States.
